Under the leadership of LTC Herman Koehler, the United States Military Academy
led the way in physical training in the late-1800s and early-1900s.
Koehler is called the "Father of United States Army Physical Readiness Training."
These were the "Golden years" of physical training.
The beauty and power of the Koehler system is in its attention
to progression, variety and precision.

The Iowa National Guard held another 40-hour physical readiness leader course this month.  Guard personnel actively support Iowa physical educators by presenting fitness-based courses at high schools.  This course supports that effort and is open to physical educators, guard personnel and others who work with youth health/fitness.  Click here to see more photos.

Dr. A.C. Mandal has published a great school furniture article.
