Common Genetic Link to Obesity Is Discovered

A team of researchers at Boston University and elsewhere have discovered a genetic variation predisposing people to obesity.  It's probably only one of many that contribute to the disease.

Several other obesity-related genes are already known, the but the genetic variant occurs in 10 percent of European and African-American populations.
