Much will be asked of our young men in years to come.
To the degree that we deprive them of rational education and training
that leads to manhood, we degrade our culture and risk our nation's future.
Historians look to the Ancient Greeks for ideals of physical culture.
We should be sobered by the realization that the physical skills
the Greeks taught their young men are being sacrificed for a lesser vision.
Wrestling, track and field, swimming, and gymnastics have always been
the core of physical culture in highly evolved societies.
All four of them are slowly dying for lack of support.
