Suit Says McDonald's Has Created National Epidemic POSTED: 7:55 a.m. EST
November 21, 2002 NEW YORK -- A
federal lawsuit claims fast-food companies are legally liable for the health
problems of some of their customers. The class-action suit claims
the fast-food chain has created a national
epidemic of obese children. It was filed on behalf of kids with problems
including diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity -- allegedly because of
McDonald's food. The lawyer claims McDonald's has
targeted children by including cheap toys with Happy Meals and other menu items.
